My dear people of God at St. Christopher’s

For several years now, the Catholic Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston has successfully embarked on a fund campaign in all its parishes to support its ministries, institutions, programs and services to people in various pastoral and difficult situations.
The campaign helps the Church fulfill its mission to announce the Gospel and continue to do what Jesus has done to bring the reign of God into our world.

Around this time of the year, we are made aware of this great work of the Church we love for all of us to get involved in the various ways we serve the people, whether members or not, whether we know them or not.
As the theme of our campaign says: THE EUCHARIST CALLS US TO REACH ALL PEOPLE.

As you may know, the campaign goes under the name of the Diocesan Services Fund, or the DSF. Our Parish -- St Christopher – was able to meet and surpass its assigned goal of $26,000 in 2007. The credit recognition and appreciation go to all of you. CONGRATULATIONS! For 2008, our NEW GOAL is $36,000. As your pastor, I earnestly appeal to you to combine your efforts and resources.Please contribute to the realization of this financial goal. With your enthusiastic response, I believe we can succeed again this year.

This Sunday and the next, we will share with you more information on where your donation goes, and who is the kind of people you are helping. Then please make your generous pledge of an AMOUNT that represents your love and concern for the Jesus, His Church and its mission. Fill out the pledge cards. And then you have the rest of the year to redeem your pledges. The sooner, the better. Make sure you use the correct envelopes, when you turn in the amount. Mark it as coming from St. Christopher if you send your checks direct to the Archdiocese. That way it will be counted in favor of our parish goal.

Mi querida gente de Dios en San Cristóbal,

Por muchos años ya, la Archidiócesis de Galveston-Houston se ha embarcado exitosamente en una campaña de recaudación de fondos en todas sus parroquias para apoyar a sus ministerios, instituciones, programas y servicios a gente en diversas situaciones difíciles.
La Campaña ayuda a la Iglesia a llevar a cabo su misión de anunciar la Buena Nueva y continuar haciendo lo que Jesús ha hecho para traer el Reino de Dios al Mundo.

Durante este tiempo del año, se nos comunica sobre esta gran labor de la Iglesia. Nos encantaría que todos nos envolviéramos en las diferentes maneras de servir al prójimo, sean miembros o no, los conozcamos o no.
Como dice el tema de nuestra campaña: LA EUCARISTIA NOS LLAMA PARA AYUDAR A TODA LA GENTE.

Como ustedes sabrán, la campaña se lleva a cabo bajo el nombre de Servicio de Fondos Diocesano, o DSF. Nuestra Parroquia – St. Christopher – pudo alcanzar y sobrepasar su meta de $26,000 en el 2007. El crédito, y reconocimiento es para todos ustedes. FELICIDADES! Como su Párroco, les suplico combinar sus esfuerzos y sus medios económicos. Por favor contribuya a la realización de esta meta financiera para este año. Con su respuesta entusiasta, yo creo que también este año podremos tener éxito.

Este Domingo y el próximo, compartiremos mas información de a donde van sus donaciones, y que gente están ustedes ayudando.
Después, por favor, done una CANTIDAD que represente su amor y preocupación por Jesús, Su Iglesia y su misión. Llene la tarjeta de compromiso. Y después tendrá el resto del año para cumplir ese compromiso. En cuanto antes, mejor. Asegúrese de usar los sobres correspondientes, cuando entregue su cantidad de donación. Si usted envía un cheque directamente a la Arquidiócesis, indique que es del la Iglesia St Christopher. De esa manera lo acreditaran a la meta de nuestra Parroquia.

En nombre de toda la gente a quienes ustedes ayudaran nuevamente, MUCHAS GRACIAS! El Señor seguramente anotara su donación en el LIBRO DE LA VIDA.
